Although most of the time the stall owners I buy food from
are faceless in the sense of not knowing them personally, most of them are
actually very happy to get on friendly terms. This is partly just their open
friendliness and partly good business sense as they know we are more likely to
buy from them again once it becomes personal.
Whenever I do get to know a food-stall owner a little I then
feel very guilty to the point of betrayal if I ever buy something from another
trader nearby. At this point I usually have to find somewhere else to do my
shopping.
