“Waiting” Photograph


“Jai yen” is an important characteristic in Thai culture and means calm or patient (literally “cool heart”). Losing your temper here means you also lose face. This guy was just about keeping his but if whatever he was waiting for took much longer I suspect he may have become a bit “jai rawn” (“hot hearted”).
