She has a good grip on him and he’s not going to get away so
easily. But in general the younger generations in Thailand, who haven’t been
too strongly influenced by the western approach, still automatically accept the
responsibility to directly care for their older generations.
I speculate that the man in this photograph is the woman’s son
and that they probably still live together as an extended family with her
receiving the care she needs whilst helping out with childcare and cooking.
